ROBERTS CHECKS INTO REHAB The actor, who is actress Emma Roberts' father, has joined the cast of the new season of reality TV show Celebrity Rehab, where celebrity counsellor Dr. Drew Pinsky will attempt to help the star battle his substance abuse demons once and for all. The details of the actor's addiction problem are hazy, but his publicist Chuck Jones tells WENN, "It's not for anything serious. He's not hooked on prescription meds or hard drugs or anything like that." Roberts, who was arrested in 1987 for cocaine and marijuana possession and continued to battle a cocaine problem throughout the 1990s, joins fallen pop star Leif Garrett and fellow actor Jeremy London in the new season of Celebrity Rehab, which began shooting earlier this week (beg19Jul10). www.express.co.uk/posts/view/189093/Roberts-checks-into-rehab/

Well, read below and watch the interview with Eliza here: uk.eonline.com/uberblog/b192173_eric_roberts_marijuana_addiction_led.htmlEric Roberts' Marijuana Addiction Led to Celeb Rehab Mon., Jul. 26, 2010 11:20 AM PDT by Peter Gicas So what exactly led Eric Roberts—aka Julia's older brother and Emma's dad—to shack up with such famous folks as Jeremy London, Janice thingyinson and Leif Garrett as part of the latest installment of VH1's Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew? "Eric quit drugs and alcohol in 1995," the actor's wife, Eliza Roberts (an actress and casting director), tells E! News. "He has no interest in anything, other than marijuana." Eliza explains that her husband had previously tried prescription medications to treat anxiety, but they simply didn't agree with him, and so he turned to cannabis for a cure. "He uses marijuana as a medication. He has a prescription," Eliza explains. "However, a dependency is a dependency and he doesn't want to be dependent on it anymore." As for how Eric's daughter is reacting to all this, Eliza simply states that "everyone in the family is very supportive of each other and of each other being their best self and being healthy." When the subject turns to his sis, Eliza says Julia and Eric do in fact keep in touch. "There's a lot of love in that family. They all really care about each other." A rep for the Runaway Train stars confirms to E! News that the actor has indeed checked into the Pasadena Recovery Center to shoot Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. But downplays the severity of his addiction. "It is NOT for any serious drug/substance, or prescription drug abuse problem," reads the statement. "Eric wishes to express his genuine thanks for the concern for his well being, and appreciates the support of his family, friends and fans."

Hi Everyone. Yes, I read all about this Friday. That is why I came on here to see if anyone had posted about this.
I have been going to "The Young and the restless" soap opera site to see when Eric will appear next time. He will be on there till August. He plays D.A. Vance Abrams. I did see him once. He didn't have a big scene, but Eric can do a lot with even a little scene. He will be on there again to help this guy named Adam. I am not a watcher of the soap, but I am watching till he leaves.
Then I read all about his Rehab. I am glad he is going there too. It is prescribed by his Doctor, but he doesn't want to depend on any kind of drugs at all. I couldn't hear Eliza though. Not on this one, or the other one. It kept cracking up on me, but I did get to read about it.
I was happy to read that Eliza said the Eric and Julia keep in touch. I didn't know that. Now I won't be so mad at her. (ha)
I know our Eric will be okay. He has an anxiety problem I guess. I think a lot of us do. I know I do. Thanks for posting. I must see if Sunflower has heard about this? I will email her, and let her know, if she doesn't already. Take Care Hugs Dee ( lorrie3)

I just finished listening to the video with Eliza.. and I am so happy to hear that Eric is going to beat his addiction to Marijuana. I am someone who beleives that everyione deserves a chance.. We as his fans will always support him.. I do not beleive that drugs of any kind can be good.. so I support his decision entirely. Eric is a wonderful actor.. and we have followed him since the seventies.. and know ther eare definitely bigger and better things out there for him. Please keep us posted on ther airing of this program ...GOOD LUCK TO YOU ERIC!!!
