Gingers:
Hello Eric,
Ginger from Georgia here.
First, thank you so very much for being so considerate to your fans; for caring; for taking time out of your busy schedule to interact with us. Not everyone would do that.
~ Thank you, Ginger. I feel bad about every time I have rushed a fan. Those moments are special, and people in the public eye
have to remember that.
1. Where do you "go" to find your serenity? For instance - I am much more at peace when we are in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee/NC. I'm very much "into" the Native American culture. When I'm sitting by a stream, or walking one of the numerous trails, the wind, water, earth - everything "speaks" to me. I do my best to bring those feelings home with me. Do you have a "special place" that brings you inner peace?
~ I happen to love the very places and activities you mentioned! Honestly, I'm in Tenness now, and boy do I love it.
2. Of the many, many films you have done, is there one you found more difficult than the others (learning the dialogue, becoming the person you were to portray, etc.)?
~ I don't like memorizing ultra long speeches. Good writing is a dream to act.
For Ms. Eliza....
1. If you had to choose one role that you had to dig deep within - or "stretch" (for want of a better _expression - to play, which would it be?
~ Oh wow...Oddly, as emotional as I am, playing true emotion is always a stretch and a challenge.
The good old fashioned honest portrayal of multi-dimensional people who have big flaws and big gifts is where it's at for me as an actress.
2. Is there anything in the forseeable future planned that would pair you and Eric in a movie together?
~ You know we have done several together: NATURE OF THE BEAST, LOVE IS A GUN, DR. WHO...
We were supposed to do BLAZE together, with me playing a judge, and Eric playing a lawyer.
Thank you for being so attentive and responsive to the Roberts/Simons fans. We recognize how busy you two are and I, personally, know of no other "stars" who are as devoted to thier fans as you two.
~ Thank you, Ginger.
Hi Eric,
Hope these questions haven't been asked previously. Although I read the list submitted before, I could have overlooked one.
1. At this stage in your career, are scripts sent to you for you to decide to do a movie or do you still go out on auditions?
~ Still goin' out for auditions!
It's about 50/50. 50% offers, and 50% things I have to audition for (especially on television, ironically).
And there are some things I audition for that I don't get.
You might want to write Jerry Bruckheimer a letter. He wanted to use me on E RING, but then I didn't get a role I auditioned for on his upcoming AMERICAN CRIME.
2. Who decides for your movie role what your appearance will look like? Ex. If you will have long hair, short hair, beard, mustache?
~ The producers, studio and director. I have some say, but I usually do it their way.
Eliza is a big part of creating my look. She's usually respected by the production and by me...eventually!
3. What criteria do you chose to select roles. Obviously it must be money driven, but do external factors like location, or co-stars play a part, or is it just the script?
~ I do have f amily to support!!! I care a lot about director, other actors, writer, marketing plan by studio, the role itself and the rest of the script, and very much the location. I love to travel to places I love or can learn to love.
