There was talks about Muddy dying of cancer all over the Internet since last week, but a couple of days ago Morgan (Eliza's daughter) posted the sad news of his death on her Facebook page. Muddy was one of Eric and Eliza's most beloved pets, a "14-year-old half-pit bull, half- German shorthair, is in the final stages of cancer. “We have his lungs drained about twice a week. And we’re keeping him alive because he still wags his tail,” Eric tells host Jsu Garcia. “But I believe this will probably be [Muddy's] last week here, because he’s starting now to get unhappy. So when he gets uncomfortable, I’m gonna put him to sleep,” adds the actor, who co-starred with Mickey in The Pope of Greenwich Village, and will be reunited with him in next year’s The Expendables, along with Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolf Lundgren and Jet Li. “I’m his best pal,” Eric tells us of Muddy (above). (Photo: The Pet Press) But we’re trying to keep him happy. And I’ll keep him with me all day long, up until that happens.” This is the link to the article: blog.blogtalkradio.com/2009/03/16/eric-roberts%E2%80%99-beloved-pooch-soon-to-pass-away-too-this-will-probably-be-muddys-last-week/Eric and Eliza are truly devastated at the loss of such a sweet, beautiful, loyal and intesely loved pet friend. Rest in Peace Muddy!

He was my " gentle giant"..Thank goodness we had Felix to help us through it all. He was "Lost" for awile too.. They did everything together.. I have photos of them posted on here somewhere. Our sincere sympathies to Eric & His family... Our pets DO become part of "OUR FAMILY".. Bye Bye Sweet Muddy... hugs to Eric & Eliza..

Eric and Eliza. My Heart goes out to both of you for the passing of Muddy. My Husband and I have been through this twice before, and it still hurts to see the cross in the back yard, where we had them burried. I still get tears when I see their graves. Our Pets are like our Children. We now have two Babies left. One is nine years old, and the other one is 10 years old. We are both dreading the day we have to go through that pain again. I do know how you both feel, and anyone who loses their pet. Our Hearts and Prayers we send to you. Love to you both Hugs always

It is always so sad when your pet dies, and he was sad and unhappy. He was loved and cared for to the end. Thanks Darya
